There are many ways to get involved at Gloria Dei. Check out what our small groups and committees have been up to lately!
Worship: The worship committee is always working to keep our worship times meaningful. Through use of music, arts, liturgy, banners, decorations, etc the worship committee coordinates the weekly acts of worship. This commitee is also responsible for coordinating worship helpers. They meet about 8 times a year to work out the planning schedule.
Youth: The youth committee has an exciting job! Our youth are constantly picking up the latest trends. The goal of the youth committee is to engage our middle school & high school aged youth in the church through the things youth are interested in.
Education: Christian education happens through many forms. The lifelong learning committee is responsible for coordinating Sunday school, bible studies, adult forums, vacation bible
school and any other events to help our congregation continue to grow in faith. From choosing curriculums to teaching to throwing water balloons-this group of leaders has a blast!
Fellowship: Much of what we do in church is fellowship. While we gather to praise God on Sunday mornings, we also gather at other times to get to know one another and hear, see & witness how God is working in each of our lives. The fellowship committee coordinates after worship snacks, church outings, social times, and any other events that bring us closer together!
Mission: The church's call is to be in Mission: locally & globally! Our mission statement is Making Christ Known. The missions committee is the center of ideas for God to use us in the world. The missions committee has coordinated events such as the adopt-a-highway program, "feeding the 5000" food packing event, local food pantry donations & yard cleanups. If there is a way we can be used to serve God's creation, this is the group to lead us!
Stewardship: God charges us to serve with our time, talents & our treasures! The stewardship committee has fun challenging us to serve God in creative ways. Through programs, ministry minutes and demonstration, the stewarship commitee teaches us what it means to serve God!
Finance: The finance committee is the brain trust of numbers! Through their gifts in mathematical and business knowledge, the finance committee creates the operating budget for the congregation and helps us to stay aware of our financial status.
Building & Facilities: With so much going on, there is a lot to take care of on the church property. From yardwork to building maintence, batteries & lightbulbs, this committee is the group that keeps our building & grounds as beautiful as they are!
